Featured resource: Career action plan

This week’s featured resource is ‘Career action plan’. Most people have more than one career, and for this reason, personal values are important drivers of career decision making. This resource includes individual and group reflections on values, ‘ideal’ careers and planning ahead. Engineer your future

This resource is designed to help students recognise the relevance of a unit (course) of study to their future lives and work. For this reason, it is a really useful inclusion in non-technicist and foundation units.

Resource set: Building a career with creativity and resilience

This resource set draws on the career story of acclaimed author Liz Byrski. The tool illustrates that many successful career paths are far from linear. It includes a career visioning tool, a career story and a snapshot of the work of writing graduates.

In this resource, students articulate their work and personal (true) personae in relation to their interactions with others.

Which you do you prefer?

This resource uses the names by which students are known to expose their different personas. From these, students begin to create a holistic identity and to consider this in terms of their future lives and work.

Plot your preferences and strengths

This resource prompts students to identify their likes, dislikes, strengths and weaknesses. It can be used to build effective teams and to promote self-development.

Getting what you want in music III
