Developing EmployABILITY project leader Professor Dawn Bennet has recently returned from the United Kingdom, after undertaking residencies at the University of Leeds and the University of Southampton.
In December and early January, University of Leeds hosted Dawn at the School of Music to build on earlier work on the University’s music curriculum. Leeds academic Dr Karen Burland, Head of the School of Music, has focused her School’s attention on the development of professional identity. This led to the development and trial of a measure for musician identity, to be rolled out together with the Developing EmployABILITY profile tool from September 2018.
Dawn then spent a week at University of Southampton with leading assessment and feedback expert, Professor Carol Evans. During this time, Carol and Dawn worked together on how to engage students in employability thinking. Dawn also met with senior leadership in careers and graduate futures and gave a workshop for Southampton staff.
Thank you to all who welcomed Dawn and Developing EmployABILITY during our time in the UK. We’re looking forward to continuing these connections into 2018 and beyond.
